Brandon and Jasmine had their 1st baby recently. When the newborn screening results came back, they were shocked to learn their baby had cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease. Neither Brandon nor Jasmine had cystic fibrosis, and they did not have any family members who were afflicted with the disease either. They didn't understand how their baby could have gotten the disease from them, because neither of them had it.
