Find the force required for the direct extrusion of commercially pure aluminum (1100-O) billet 8 in in diameter into a rod 2 inches in diameter. Assume that the redundant work is 30 % of the ideal work of deformation and the friction work is is 25% of the total work of deformation. The flow stress of the aluminum can be found from the following parameters. K = 26,000 psi; n = 0.20.
