Here is the task, can't figure out how indicators can be involved. (The use of indicators was supposed to be a hint)

A lawyer has to schedule meetings with k his clients in the next month (30 days). Suppose each client randomly selects one day in the next month (including weekends) to meet with the lawyer. Find the expected number of days when the layer will be free.
