Find the enthalpies and entropies at each point around a simple Rankine cycle. Assume that prior to entering the pump, the water is a saturated liquid at a pressure of 8 kPa. After leaving the pump, the water is raised to a pressure of 4 MPa. Take the isentropic efficiency of the pump to be 100% and the isentropic efficiency of the turbine to be 90%. The temperature of the superheated vapour entering the turbine are 400°C. . The mass flow rate of the working fluid around the plant is 35 kg/s. Draw the cycle on a diagram.
