A bag of intravenous (iv) infusion is help up at 80 cm above the level of patient's veion. The bag is connected through a 4mm diameter tube to a catheter with 0.45 mm diameter. Unfortunately the catheter gets clogged right at the end.

A) What is the downward force of the saline solution on the clot at the tip of the catheter?

B) In trying to remove the clot, two approaches are considered:

1. Increase the length of the tube to 2m to increase the pressure on the clot

2. Increase the pressure around the bag of saline to 2 atm by compressing it mechanically
