A long string of tension T and mass density ÃŽ · is attached to a small sphere of mass m. Another identical string is attached to the other side of the mass (with the same tension). An incident wave yi (x,t) = A exp (i(kx-wt)) is coming from the left of the mass.

What is the displacement of the string on the right side of the mass, yt(x,t)? Ignore the effects of gravity.
