A painter (m=70 kg) is standing a distance of 0.6 m from the top of a ladder (mass 40 kg and length 2.5 m). There is friction between the bottom of the ladder and the floor with ?s=0.3.

i.) Find the conditions for static equilibrium of the ladder with the painter on top.

ii.) If the angle of the ladder with the horizontal is 60°, determine whether or not this ladder will slip.
