Find the centroid and moment of inertia (Ix) of a composite steel structure. The structure is built out of a 2" thick by 20" long steel plate welded to a piece of 1" thick pc of "c" channel. The channel is 16" wide by 4" deep. The welds to the plate occur at the ends of the "c" channel creating a hollow air space. the Channel is centered on the on the plate.
