• The power amplifier of a portable cellular handset operates at 3.2 volts and has an output power of 600 mW. Find the amplifier output impedance.
• The amplifier is connected to the handset antenna which has an impedance of 35 + j10 ? at one unspecified operating frequency. Find the inductive reactance and capacitive reactance needed to match the transmitter output to the antenna under this condition. (Hint: you can use the amplifier output impedance as Z0. Use the method of Pozar example 2.5 or any other means to find the matchingnetwork).
• If the handset is operating at 1800 MHz, find the capacitance and inductance of the matching network.
• To put these impedances into perspective, research how one can calculate the impedance of a straight piece of wire or printed circuit board (PCB) conductor in terms of length, thickness and width. Find the length of the conductor on a PCB that would provide the desired impedance. Note: it is common to specify PCB material by weight. A "1 ounce copper" circuit board has a thickness of copper that weighs one ounce per square foot. Circuit trace width can vary widely, but you may assume a 25 mil trace width.
A charged 100-pf capacitor has initial voltage across it of 10V. a 100kohm resistor is suddenly connected across the capacitor (at t=0) to discharge it. What is the magnitude of the instantaneous current at 20 usec?
For the given circuit, determine the function of it I.e. is it OR gate? Or AND gate,.. Show all your answer, also draw the symbol and truth table of it.
Water is the working fluid in a vapor power cycle with reheat, superheat and reheat. Superheated steam enters the first turbine stage at 8 MPa, 480 C and expands to 0.7 MPa
A coaxial cable has a loss of 5.6 dB at a frequency f. A signal at f has ans rms amplitude of 1.7 mV at the cable input. What is the rms amplitude after it has traveled the length of the cable
What is the shape of the spectrum of the signal? What is the extent of the spectrum in the frequency domain? What is the unit that is applied to the magnitude of the spectrum?
Generate a sine wave signal with amplitude A=1, and frequency=0.1592Hz. Using a uniform PCM method, quantize it ot a) 8-level and b) 16-level. Plot the original signal and the quantized signals on the same axes
1- Describe the function of the program. DO NOT WRITE THE OPERATION OF EACH INSTRUCTION 2- Assuming that the branch instruction is executed (the branch is taken), comput the number of clock cycles required to execute the loop (DECA or BNE AGAIN)
draw the sympol and truth table of the gate that corresponds to the action of the logic gate.
Note that after a collision, the expected numbers are slightly different in two systems, but the difference is unimportant since collisions are rare.
construct a vertical line on your I versus V graph at the point V=5V. this line will intersect each of the sloping lines at two separate points. explain the significance of these intersections.
Calculate the following. a) What is the magnitude of the voltage in a wall socket if the effective voltage is 240 Vrms b) What is the magnitude of the current if the effective current is 360 mArms
sketch the spectrum
