Question: It was indicated at the beginning of Chapter that regression can be used to predict body fat percentage. Obviously, this could be of interest to people who have an aversion to underwater weighing (which is necessary to determine the percentage accurately) or who simply do not have easy access to the proper equipment. One prediction equation that has been claimed to be reasonably accurate is

Body fat % = (height)² x (waist)²

body weight x c

where height and waist measurements are in inches, bodyweight is in pounds, and c is a constant that is equal to 970 for women and 2304 for men.
Assume that you are given the task of verifying this equation for women. How would you proceed? In particular, is it possible to obtain a multiple linear regression model after making an appropriate transformation? If so, outline the steps that you would follow in a study designed to check the equation.
