A car with a mass of 1480 kg is constructed so that its frame is supported by four springs. Each spring has a force constant of 20500 N/m. Two people riding in the car have a combined mass of 154 kg. Find the frequency of vibration of the car after it is driven over a pothole in the road.

A 38.0 kg boy jumps on a 5.00 kg pogo stick with spring constant 4000 N·m. Find the following that describe the boy's motion.

(a) the angular frequency rad/s Identify the total mass that is moved back and forth by the spring, and use the mass and spring constant to calculate the angular frequency.

(b) the frequency Hz Either calculate the frequency f from the angular frequency ?, or else identify the total mass being moved back and forth by the spring, and use the mass and spring constant to calculate the frequency.

(c) the periods Either calculate the period from your previous results, or else use the amount of mass that is moving and the spring constant to calculate the period of the oscillation.
