Question: The air pressure in the high and low-pressure sections of a constant diameter shock tube are 600 and 20 kPa, respectively. The temperatures in both sections are 30°C. After the diaphram that separates the two sections is ruptured, a shock wave propagates into the low pressure section and an expansion wave propagates into the high pressure section. Find the air velocity and temperatures between the two waves and the velocity of the shock wave.
