An electrical window air conditioner with a cooling capacity of of 8000 kJ/hr draws 6.00 amps of electrical current at 120 volts and maintains the cooled space at a constant 20 oC. The outdoor temperature is a constant 42 oC. The electricity price is $0.15/kwhr. Find the actual cycle coefficient of performance, the rate of waste heat rejection (kJ/hr) and electrical cost per hour. Repeat/Compare results for COP, waste heat rate (kJ/hr) and operating cost ($/hr) for a Carnot refrigeration cycle with the same cooling capacity.
