A bullet is fired through a board 12 cm thick in such a way that the bullet's line of motion is perpendicular to the face of the board. If the initial speed of the bullet is .4 km/s and it emerges from the other side of the board with a speed of .3 km/s, find a) the acceleration (assuming it to be constant) of the bullet as it passes through the board and b) the total time the bullet is in contact with the board. c) If the same bullet were fired at the same initial speed into a 32 cm thick board wherein it experiences the same acceleration as before, how fast would it be traveling when it emerged?
