Consider two (very) long, cylindrical rods, both of radius R. Rod A has a cylindrically symmetric, positive, volumetric charge distribution of ?=cr2 where r<R, and c is a constant. Rod B is conductive. What must the surface charge density be on Rod B such that both rods have the same electric field strength above their surfaces (r>R)? Answer in terms of c and R. Find that electric field E(r) as well.
