Soils that are irrigated for crop production face increases in salinization and pollutants. This eventually renders the soil unusable. How can farmers balance giving enough water to thirsty crops (think celery, lettuce, and other high-water use crops) without increasing salinity and pollutant concentration? Is there a feasible way to remove salt and pollutants from soil?
