Find a professional personal or business message (letter, email, memo) that you directly received or that your colleagues or parents received. Personal business might include a message from an insurance company, etc.
1. Indicate the company and title of the person the message was sent from.
2. Include the sentence that you think reflects the main idea. If you don’t find one then create one.
3. Indicate whether or not the author is using the direct or indirect approach and also explain where the main idea sentence is located in the message.
4. Include a sentence that applies the “you” attitude. If you don’t find one then create one.
5. Find an example of a sentence that reflects application of one technique from each section (open/body/close) in attachment provided "Routine Message Techniques." Ex. List responses as "Open - Choose Technique from attached link, such as "Positive Statement" - include sentence that applies technique listed."
