A bead of mass m is restricted to slide on a frictionless wire. The wire lies in a vertical plane and has the shape described by the equations

x=a(φ-sinφ)
y=a(1+cosφ)

where a is a constant and φ is a changing parameter, y is assumed to be in the vertical direction.

Find the period of small oscillations of the bead near its stable equilibrium position.
