Q1. Charge is placed on two conducting spheres that are very far apart and connected by a long thin wire. The radius of the smaller sphere is 5cm and that of the larger sphere is 12cm. The electric field at the surface of the larger sphere is 980kV/m. Find out the surface charge density on each sphere.

Q2. A 200 g block is pressed against a spring of force constant 1.40 kN/m until the block compresses the spring 10 cm. The spring rests at the bottom of a ramp inclined at 60.0 degrees to the horizontal. Using energy considerations find out how far up the incline the block moves before it stops (a) if there is no friction between the block and the ramp and (b) if the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.400.
