A 0.468 g sample of pentane, C5H12, was burned in a bomb calorimeter. The temperature of the calorimeter and the 1 kg of water rose from 20.45 degrees Celsius to 23.65 degrees Celsius. The heat capacity of the calorimeter is 2.21 kJ/Degrees Celsius. Using this information, determine the heat of combustion per mole of pentane. Could someone please explain clearly step by step on how to solve this problem.
