A national manufacturer of ball bearings is experimenting with two different processes for producing precision ball bearings. It is important that the diameters be as close as possible to an industry standard. Bearing that are significantly different from industry standards will result in substantial loss in goodwill among customers. Some bearings from each process were examined and the error from the industry standard in mm is recorded below:

Bearing Process A Process B

1 0.02 0

2 0.03 0.07

3 0.03 0.04

4 0.03 0.04

5 0.01 0.01

6 0.02 0.04

7 0.01 0.03

8 0.02 0.04

9 0.03 0.04

-Can we conclude process B more likely to differ from industry standards?

-What type of error could you be making in the context of the above question? Explain
