Workforce retention is critical to the short-term and long-term sustainability of organisations (Kyndt, Dochy, Michielsen & Moeyaert 2009). Therefore, much research has been conducted examining factors influencing employee retention. One of these areas is the influence that employee engagement has on workforce retention.
