Required:
a. Start by introducing the Balanced Scorecard, its perceived benefits, lists organisations that follow or implement the Balanced Scorecard.
b. Construct a strategy map for the organisation or refer to it if it is done.
c. Document in detail the elements (objectives, measures, targets etc.) of the Balanced Scorecard.
d. Identify the purpose of each Balanced Scorecard element.
e. Describe, if the facts are available, or infer, if the facts are not available, how the Balanced Scorecard elements relate to the organisation's strategy.
f. Evaluate the Balanced Scorecard by indicating whether you agree that the choice of Balanced Scorecard performance measures is complete and consistent with the organisation's plan and stakeholder set.
g. Argue your case if you find that certain measures could be different from what is mentioned in the article/website.
h. List the outcome or benefits on implementing a strategy map by the stated organisation(s).
The students are required to demonstrate:
-a good understanding of Management Accounting concepts with reference to the Balanced Scorecard.
-appropriate application of Accounting/Balanced Scorecard concepts in a manner which illuminates the problem and perhaps offers a solution
-expressed awareness of ethical issues raised by the issue and possible solutions.
