A Carnot cycle, in which the initial system consists of 1 mole of an ideal diatomic gas of volume V, is carried out as follows: Step 1: isothermal expansion at 50 C to volume 3V. Step 2: adiabatic expansion to volume 6V. Step 3: isothermal compression to volume 3V. Step 4: adiabatic compression to the initial state. Calculate (i) the total work done of the cycle. (ii) the efficiency of the cycle.
