A jewel thief steals a valuable golden egg from an exhibitionon tht third floor of a multi-story building. The policeenter the building and the thief runs to hide on one of the upperfloors. To get rid of the evidence the thief drops the eggout of the window. An alert detective on thethird floor sees the egg falling and times it asit passes the lower half of her window. The floors are4m apart. The egg takes 0.101sec to fall the last 1.5 m past thedetective's window, which extends to the floor. The bottom ofthe detective's window is 8m from theground.
