Library Assignment - Annotated Bibliography

Word count: 2 Page (about 500 words)

Find least two academic articles (one online, one in print), two magazine articles (one online, one in print) and two books. At least two of these sources should be about your text specifically and two should provide context and research for your larger topic of interest.

You will each of the 6 sources using proper MLA style and then in 4-5 sentences summarize the article/book/blog, etc. and explain why it will be useful to your research paper.

For instance, perhaps you are interested in the role of colonialism in Sherlock Holmes so maybe you would do research on the Anglo-Afghanistan war of 1880 in which Dr. Watson was injured. Or, perhaps you're interested in SJ Rozan's representation of China Town and so you might look up books about China Town. Or, perhaps you are really interested in the question of genre and so you want to look up books about genre. Or, perhaps you just want more information on the author and will look up a biography or a book about their other work.

And, you have to fill out the following chart, hand in with the paper.

Note. Be creative. Perhaps look on a newspaper's archive and see if you can find an original review of the book or story or perhaps there's a new magazine you really like that writes about topics that you would be interested in connecting to one of the course texts.
