2 kg of water at 10oC and atmospheric pressure are placed in a pressure cooker and heated until the water boils at 140oC. The pressure relief valve then opens and allows steam (vapour) to escape. Five minutes later, the mass of water remaining in the cooker is 1.8 kg. Find i) The maximum pressure shown by a gauge on the cooker ii) The quantity of heat transferred to the water when it just starts to boil (ignore heat capacity of cooker) iii) Flow rate of heat to water during evaporation.
