A DMS source X = { xi }; i = 1, 2, 3 produces its alphabet with unequal probabilities: P(x1) = 0.45; P(x2) = 0.35; and P(x3) = 0.2. If the symbols are taken in blocks of 2 symbols in one block. Answer the following questions:

a. What is the total number of 2-symbol blocks that can be formed from the alphabet of X? List these blocks?
b. Use your answer for question 1, above to work the probability of occurrence of each block in the blocks you formed in a.?
c. What is the average information per symbol, H(X) without any blocks being formed?
d. What is the average information per symbol, H(X) when the blocks are formed?
