Can you let me know if my essay is good and if it meets all the requirements? The requirements are:
1. Find a current event article involving discrimination.
2. Prepare a written summary of the article. Keep in mind that you want to summarize the main ideas, not all of the details. Summarize the article using the following format:
a. Summarize the main points of the article.
b. What law or laws were violated?
c. Describe the author's position.
d. State your position - did you agree or disagree with the outcome or verdict?
In this article, it discusses the racial profiling of Mr. Winston Nelson, a patient who was mistreated at Saint-Eustache hospital. He and his wife, Cheryl Scott, filed a human rights complaint against the hospital. They gave authority to the Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations to represent them in the matter before the Quebec Human Rights Commission. The couple assert that the hospital is guilty of systemic racism. Despite the couple's claims that the hospital was racial profiling them, Saint-Eustache hospital's representatives plainly concluded that their staff only lacked medical experience. Reports showed that the hospital had already been accused of racism before. In this case, Mr. Nelson's civil rights and human rights in patient care were violated. Wherein civil rights focus on patient's rights to be treated fairly and equally. Patient rights is the right to appropriate health and medical care of good quality. Mr. Nelson's human convictions, dignity, individual needs, integrity, and culture should be respected.
According to the authors' position, he could have supported the patient since he was aware of the racial profiling at Saint-Eustache hospital. Furthermore, even if the article is not biased, it also shows the side of the hospital whose representatives concluded that their staff lack experience. In his remarks, by stating the victim's statement that this was not the first time they had experienced it at the same hospital and with the same people. In my opinion, the verdict is not appropriate, because it did not specify that justice had been served on the victim. The case was neglected by the officials merely because of the spokeswoman's statement from the regional health authority, who only apologized and stated that it was not a discrimination, but of a lack of experience of the hospital staff. If officials do not take action, this case will always be overlooked. Due to the prevalence of racial profiling, this is not the first time the victim has been subjected to such treatment.
