Assignment:
I am a big believer that we can better understand an issue if we look at it from multiple perspectives. Typically, classes in an MBA program ask you to only focus from the managers/organizations perspective.
I would like you to find a case of an employee relations issue before 1960 (please do not use the article we covered in class or the article I assigned for the weekly assignment). I then want you to explain the following (in detail):
1) What was the situation?
2) How did the laws current to the situation (i.e., the laws in effect at the time of the situation) contribute to the issue?
3) What laws, that are currently in effect, could have helped mitigate, if not eliminate, the situation?
4) What role did management have in the situation?
5) What role did employees have in the situation?
6) If you were an employee in the situation, what could you have done to promote a better outcome?
7) If you were a manager in the situation, what could you have done to promote a better outcome?
Please also list any other factors you deem relevant to the situation and the outcome experienced.
