Problem: A ball is moving perpendicularly to a wall with an initial speed of 22.4 m/s. After striking the wall it bounces in the opposite direction with a speed of 21.2 m/s. Taking the positive direction towards the wall, find the initial velocity of the ball.

Required:

Question 1: What is the final velocity of the ball after bouncing back?

Question 2: What is the change in velocity?

Question 3: If the contact time between the ball and the wall is 122 msec, what is the acceleration of the ball during the contact?
