Make sure your case effectively illustrates your topic, is Canadian and is NOT from the textbook (unless otherwise agreed with the instructor). Presentation must clearly convey key facts, issues, arguments, final decision and its reasoning, in a way that classmates can easily understand and retain (any factual details or legal issues that are not necessary or relevant to the specific employment topic should be ignored - keep it simple and clear)

Which are the key facts, legal issues and final legal decision with legal vocabulary and overview to respond that case.

Social Media - The rise of "social media" has created new legal issues in the workplace. Using www.calii.org (or any other credible source) this group will locate a Canadian case (doesn't have to be an Ontario case since this is a common law issue, rather than statute based) where an employee was disciplined or terminated for using social media in a way that allegedly harmed the employer in some way - e.g. its reputation. Did the employer have a policy on social media use and if so, was it helpful to the employer in this decision? What are the hallmarks of an effective policy? The case chosen will be the main focus of this presentation as the group uses it to convey the key components of this issue. (Due to the scarcity of common law - i.e. non-union - cases in this area, this group may use labour arbitration cases from unionized workplaces in Canada).
