Joanna has a very active personality and likes to be involved in activities that can involve her in bettering the community she is a part of. For this reason, she volunteered to be in the Student Committee when she enrolled in a Business course in a private university. She was voted in as the President and she was looking forward to organizing activities to make her University days a memorable one. Moreover, if she served her term well, it will look good on her resume and help her get a scholarship to transfer to a foreign university. There had been a couple of meetings held and the she found the committee to be very enthusiastic. Joanna is very pleased and looked forward to a good year ahead. However, the Covid19 pandemic struck and all classes and activities were moved online. She was not able to organize events that she used to do in high school. The adviser of the Committee called her and reminded her that the aim of the student committee was to provide students a connection to activities other than the academic curriculum. The activities are now more important than ever as students have less physical interaction and become more isolated. She called for a meeting of the committee for 2 weeks she had not been able to get any response from some of them. They were unresponsive and seem to have lost the energy they had displayed in the past meetings. This indicated to her that the adviser was right, some of the committee members are becoming affected. Joanna knew that she will have to step up her efforts in motivating her committee to mobilise them into action.
