Fiction: Direct Action
Take a character from one place to another, and show who they are, where they are going, how they feel, etc. without directly stating it, but rather by showing it through direct action. Do not make any jumps in time. Stay with the character for the duration of the action in your scene. The goal is to completely conceal the exposition! Imagine you are describing the action of a movie. Sometimes writing in the present tense helps you to write direct action.
Write about a conflict you've faced.
Consider this sentence "The selection that was occurring in the population on the individuals was of a nature that favored the individuals in the population
