Feminism in U.S. History
Feminism has played an important role in U.S. history. After several campaigns, which were lead by many female pioneers such as, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, women won the right to vote in 1920 (A tradition of independence), and women could work outside during and after the Second World War. But even so, there still are a lot of areas that need to work in order to provide full equality between women and men in society.
In the reading "You're a hardcore feminist. I swear", Jessica mentioned that in Wal-Mart, women could not get the birth control pills due to the law in some states (Jessica 6). I think this is really unfair for the woman, because the pill was invented for preventing from unplanned pregnancy. It is her right to decide either buy it or not. The women should vote this particular law, and not a single man gets any involved. Another example in the reading was that even now days, women still could not get same amount of payment compare with men (Jessica 6). This is really disrespect to women, since they spend same amount of time to do the work but cannot get paid equally.
All men should change their point of view of women in US society, and give the rights back to the women.
