A family nurse practitioner (FNP) is the only provider who works in an urgent care clinic when a 15-year-old boy comes in with complaints of new onset intermittent visual and auditory hallucinations. The FNP has legend drug prescriptive authority. Recommend a service that the FNP should provide for this patient. Order alprazolam to decrease the patient's anxiety associated with the hallucinations. Prescribe nutritional support known to improve psychiatric symptoms. Order Haldol for immediate relief of hallucinations. Refer the patient to the emergency room for further evaluation.
