Roberts bought a new ride-on lawn mower as well as allowed his son, Mathew to be the first person to drive it. Because of a factory defect the mower's gearshift stuck in reverse. Mathew was extremely injured when the mower backed into a ditch and tipped over. When Mathew sued the manufacturer for his injuries, the manufacturer claimed that it was not liable because Mathew had not purchased the mower. Is Mathew probable to win his case? Why or why not?
