Facilitate collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team including the patient and the patient's support system. Mrs.A, has a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order wrist band. Her family was present, and they are stressed and request all interventions to save her. I organize a prompt meeting involving the healthcare team and the family. This ensures that communication is clear and decisions are made collaboratively while I advocate for the patient. I spoke with her and her family about this and the patient explained that every since her first and only son past away she hasnt appreciated life. She has not taken care of herself. She was in there for a wound that was all the way down to the bone on her heel. Her legs were 4+ Edema and this was all from a sedimentary life. Just the small time that I was there she allowed wound care to come see her and actually listed to the intructions. She went down to physically therapy and she made the commitment to take care of her legs by doing what is asked of her. She even said that she would seriously think about her DNR.
