Employee's fear of job loss is a common concern that may cause their anxiety when they face a changing environment. When an organisation is implementing a change, it means the organisation will change the working procedures, technologies, and skills needed to work in the new environment. As a result of all these changes, employees may feel that their current knowledge, skills and abilities will not meet the new requirements and therefore, they will lose their jobs. To deal with such anxiety to change caused by the fears of job loss, I, as a manager, will implement the transformational leadership in the process of organisational change. There are four key elements: charisma, inspiration, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration, included in the transformational leadership (Bass, 1985). The charisma element of transformational leadership will provide a clear vision to the employees how the organisation will look like after the change implemented. The inspiration element will enable a transformational leader to accurately communicate the vision to the employees and therefore, the employees will interpret the vision consistently. The intellectual stimulation element will encourage the employees to learn more new skills to meet the new requirements and therefore, it will improve the employee's self-efficacy that they will be capable to undertake the job in the new environment. The individual consideration element will facilitate a transformational leader to care about the employee's individual needs during the process and therefore, will lower the employee's anxiety to change.
