Choosing items which correlate highly with an external criterion maximizes the test's:

A. Stability over time

B. Internal consistency

C. Predictive validity

D. Test-retest reliability

It wouldn't be internal consistency, would it? That has to do with the average correlation among items within the test or scale. Is external criterion the same thing as external validity? I'm so confused.
