One connection I see with the Inferno is people using the expression "The seventh circle of hell." This clearly comes from The Inferno and I have heard it in various pop culture references. I also think many modern adaptions of pop culture take their depiction of hell from The Inferno. Creatures like centaurs and demons are reoccurring in modern films like Harry Potter. I think that The Inferno serves as the basis for many of these creatures and depictions.

Some connections I see from The Odyssey are how Greek gods are seen. I think that so much of our modern depiction of Greek gods in modern culture comes from The Odyssey. I also think the way we see Greek people is largely in part due to this as well. For example, cyclops is a one eyed creature in The Odyssey and we see a similar character in the movie series the X-Men. A video game, Assassin's Creed Odysseus is even named after the Odyssey. A lot of these adaptations stem back from these myths.
