Suppose there was a mutation that caused the increased expression of a particular gene. Until very recently, this mutation caused a decrease in fitness, however, a change in the environment now gives mutants a big advantage. Since the environmental changed the mutant allele has spread through the population. Would you expect this mutant allele to be in linkage disequilibrium with nearby genetic loci? Please explain why, or why not.
