Express the Reissner functional for the cantilever beam shown in Fig. 4.36 having a triangular axial force distribution, and a uniform normal loading distribution. Get an approximate solution to the bending moment, the vertical deflection curve w and the horizontal stretching curve us using the Reissner functional. Compare with results from the technical theory of beams at x = L. Assume linear elastic behavior.
