Project 4 - It's all about Workplace Success 

Introduction:

In project 4, we will be exploring how to apply the concepts and skills we have covered during the final unit of the course. You will work in teams of 2 or individually to develop a 20 minute training class on one of the topics we covered during Unit 4.

Assignment Description:

Step 1: Select the topic related to workplace success. You may select any "workplace success" topic you wish, but here are some examples:

• Developing leadership skills
• Mentoring skills
• Change management
• Job search techniques
• Resume writing
• Winning work attitudes
• Planning your career
• Networking

Step 2: Review the material we covered on your selected topic, including text chapters and material covered. Additional outside research on your topic. An important part of this assignment is to provide some new insights on your topic that add to what were covered in the text.

Step 3: 20-minute training session for the class on some element your topic. The objective of your presentation it to teach the class the some new skills they can use to improve their success in the workplace.  You have complete freedom in the structure of your training session. Here are some general guidelines:

• Your training session must include some new information or insight that adds to what we covered in our course work.
• Your training session must include "visual aids" that add to student learning. This could be a PowerPoint presentation, a poster or other visual aide.
• Your training session must include at least one class activity that will allow the students the opportunity to practice the shills you are teaching.
• Your training session must include a "hand out" that students can keep for future reference.
• Be creative and have fun!
