In our module, we explored the term "White Privilege." The term denotes how those seen as "white" may receive social and cultural privileges based on the color of their skin. Not everyone agrees that whiteness bestows certain privileges, and the arguments supporting that notion are tied to poverty; that is, poor white people, seem far less privileged, which is a legitimate argument.

Share one specific example of privilege you have witnessed or experienced personally, or you can pull something out of current events. Using a sociological lens, discuss a) the background that gave rise to the situation, b) what was or seemed to have been gained (or even what was lost) by the privileged population, and c) what the effects were on others outside the privileged population.
