Assignment:

You have recently begun working with a childless couple in their early 30s who report that their partnership is deteriorating into daily arguments. They report that they rarely talk to each other in hopes that arguments will be avoided, but this seems to build up the frustrations. Recently both have taken to staying at work late to avoid coming home. The couple both report that they have little hope that therapy will help them in any way.

Select one of the Strategic-Systemic models and explore how you would approach this case. Name and explain a few key concepts of the model you selected, note the role of the therapist in that model, and how change is viewed within the model. Then give several examples of how you would treat the family. Give examples of interventions that you would use and the goals that would guide those interventions.
