Details of Task: TOPIC - SIX DAY WORK WEEK
Part 1. Form a group with 4-5 members. Nominate one member as the group Leader.
Part 2. Select an organisation or industry (Australian based) with which you are familiar (it may be one you or any of your group members do or have previously worked for).
Part 3. Research and write a report in which you explore the feasibility of introducing a six-day work week at least for a period of two years in that organisation/industry to make up the productivity losses due to COVID-19 triggered lockdown.
Part 4. In your report, consider the impact on management employee relations- both positive and negative- of the introduction of a six-day work week. Try to focus on the aspects pertaining to fair work act, workplace relations philosophies, labour market, employee union, conflict, and so on.
Part 5. Conclude your report with well-argued recommendations of introducing a six-day work week in your chosen organisation/industry in Australia. Undertake research on the topic, aiming for a balanced range of research from academic journal articles and popular media (such as podcasts, websites, practitioner publications, news items etc). A minimum of 5-8 sources (references) are needed.
