Assessment Description:
You are to explore the arguments around Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and showcase a company showing leadership in CSR.
The key sections to be included in the report are listed below. All reports must contain a Title page; Executive summary; Table of contents, Introduction; Conclusion; and References list.
Appropriate facts and figures must be researched from academic and commercial sources. It is essential to avoid general, unsupported statements.
It is also essential to reference all material used - both in-text and at the end of the report.
References must follow the Harvard referencing style. Refer to the Academic Learning Skills handout on Report Writing. Please see Academic Learning skills staff for assistance with this, or any assignment.
Research of academic journals is required to examine the case for and against CSR. Also, appropriate facts and figures on the company and industry must be included. A minimum of six separate sources, including the text, are required. It is essential to avoid general, unsupported statements and unreferenced material.
Progress: The assignment will include the following activities:
a) Select the company and get it approved by the lecturer by Week 2,
b) Set up your word document
c) Begin a search of the academic literature on CSR.
d) Research the efforts of your chosen company in CSR.
e) Write the sections of the report (as shown below).
f) Consult ALS for help with polishing your report.
g) Double check referencing and submit to Turnitin. You are looking for a score of 20% or less.
h) Submit final report for grading, through Moodle. The report MUST be submitted electronically in Microsoft Office format. Please be aware that any assessments submitted in other formats will be considered LATE and will lose marks until it is presented in Microsoft Office format. The penalty for late submissions is 10% per day.
