Assignment - Childhood Obesity Essay
Purpose of the Assignment - The purpose of this assignment is to provide the student with an opportunity to explore strategies for health promotion and risk reduction.
Directions -
1. Each student will prepare a written assessment on how a current trend in society or the progress of research is likely to affect the accessibility, quality, cost or impact of health promotion and risk reduction services.
2. Each student will access the appropriate research literature on the approved topic. Appropriate literature includes scholarly periodicals (journals) that are peer-reviewed, and that are prepared specifically for a scholarly or professional audience. At least six sources from the scholarly periodical (journal) literature must be included. Other sources, such as textbooks, electronic resources such as web sites, and publications for the lay public may be included, but are in addition to the scholarly periodical references required.
3. Write a 5-page paper, which should include the following:
A 1-2 paragraph description of the problem
A brief review and critique of the current scholarly research in the problem area, appropriate to the student's educational emphasis (clinical faculty, administration or advanced nursing practice). Popular, sensational and general interest literature is not acceptable for this review. 4. The body of the paper is not to exceed five (5) typewritten pages (excluding title page, abstract and references).
