Design Exploration - This exercise relates to Assessment - PROCESS DIARY - Consumer
Your task:
Explore and record all the things that you eat or use in one day. Take at least 15 interesting photographs and make at least 10 sketches.
Instructions:
Pick one day during the week and document everything that you consume from one of the categories listed below:
Food (fruit, veggies, bread, cereal, coffee, chips, drinks etc) Everything you spend money on that day (food, travel, etc) Everything you watch on TV/online (take screen grabs, devise icons)
The energy you consume (the number of light bulbs, hot water for shower, petrol for the car) Time spent on public transport, or TV, computer etc
Make a comprehensive list. You may need to compare different amounts of time or quantities, or make icons to help show the intangibles (power, watching TV etc). Use the ‘Research Notes Log' supplied, to document your consumption. Photograph and draw your consumption,
be inventive and playful.
Attach copies in your Process Diary. You will also need to write a 150 word reflection, outlining your findings.
